Boost Your Longevity with This “Best Friend” Secret

Heart attack.

The words can send shivers down anyone’s spine.

And if you’ve had a heart attack, you know just how terrifying it is.

But the attack itself isn’t nearly as scary as your new reality.

You see, once you’ve had one heart attack, your chances of having ANOTHER heart attack – or dying from another heart issue – go through the ROOF.

But there’s good news…

There’s an easy way to SLASH your risk of dying after a heart attack by 65%.

And it’s all thanks to your best friend.

A new study, published in the journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes, found that owning a dog can dramatically improve your chances of living after a heart attack

The study looked at 182,000 patients who had a heart attack and were between 40 and 85 years old

After following them for 11 years, the scientists found dog owners had a whopping 24 percent reduced risk of all death from all causes

Even better? The study also found having a dog

  • Reduced risk of death from heart attack by 65 percent
  • And lowered risk of death from all heart-related issues by 31 percent.

The study found this longevity association with dogs, but not with other animals.

What do dogs do for you (that animals like a fish or cat won’t)?

The researchers report it’s because of the increased physical activity and caring for dogs, which leads to less depression, loneliness, and stronger social connections.

And it is true, the study showed dog owners exercised more, had lower blood pressure levels and better cholesterol profile that their non-dog-owning neighbors.

So, if you are lonely, head out to your local shelter and find a new best friend. It might just save your life!

P.S. If you have never had a heart attack, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. But that doesn’t mean one of these scary attacks isn’t in your future. Which is why you need to know all about this popular drug that can actually CAUSE a heart attack, and how to keep yourself and loved ones safe.
