Dynamic Duo Destroys High Blood Sugar

Dear Reader,

If you have diabetes or prediabetes, chances are your mainstream doctor already told you to give up all of your favorite foods.

No more Christmas cookies, pies and cakes… or even delicious bread and crackers.

Well, if that is true, it might just be time to get a new doctor.

Because there’s a dynamic duo that consists only of natural medicines that can STOP diabetes – and you don’t have to sacrifice your favorite foods

Incredibly enough, a new study, published in the journal Nature Communications, discovered a combination of berberine along with probiotics was extremely effective at balancing blood sugar.

The study followed 409 people with blood sugar problems. The researchers divided the participants into four groups:

  • The first took a placebo
  • The second took probiotics
  • The third took berberine
  • The fourth took a combination of probiotics and berberine

Now, if you watch any television or see online ads, then you’ve probably heard of glycated hemoglobin (or HA1C, or just A1C) as a way of measuring blood sugar control.

Well, what was amazing about this study was that all groups taking berberine improved their H1C levels.

BUT the most effective group was the one that took the combination of berberine and probiotics.

This group dropped their A1C level by 1.04 (which is almost a 15% drop)!

The researchers believe the combination of probiotics and berberine worked well because it alters the microbiome (that collection of microorganisms that live in your gut).

When the researchers considered all the species that changed in the microbiomes of the participants, they found a certain species (Ruminococcus Bromii) may be the most important. Ruminococcus Bromii has a key role in degrading starches, inhibiting the production of bile acids, and helps regulate metabolic homeostasis (your metabolism).

Put simply, the takeaway is this: improving your microbiome can help you regulate your blood sugar – and berberine and probiotics are a great way to get there.

You can take it another step further by adding in the following.

Dr. Scott’s Balanced Blood Sugar Approach:

  • Eat well: This means avoiding processed foods, eating good proteins, and as many veggies as you can. Staying away from sugar, grains, and starchy vegetables also helps. If you are going to eat sugar, then do it near a meal (this slows down the absorption of sugar).
  • Exercise: Don’t feel that you have to run a marathon to be in shape, but walking, golfing, or a game of tennis can all help your body deal with sugar more effectively.
  • Inflammation: Buy some cheap health insurance by taking supplements that keep your inflammation low: I like fish oil, curcumin, and Boswellia.
  • Chromium: This mineral is also well-known to help control blood sugar.
