High Blood Sugar? (Here’s How to Tell)
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…
Maintain a balanced blood sugar is the best way to stay healthy as you age.
Because high blood sugar doesn’t just give you diabetes… it’s also a key driver behind some of the worst chronic diseases around
But if you’re like most of us, you don’t always know when your blood sugar is high.
There are several warning signs that your blood sugar is out of control.
And you don’t need to test your blood sugar to see them.
Let me show you.
When you don’t control your blood sugar, your risk for diabetes, heart disease, nerve damage, kidney damage, eye damage, hearing loss, dementia, and even depression can go through the roof.
And once your blood sugar becomes a problem, these symptoms tend to show up:
- Urination: Having to go to the bathroom and feeling rushed (urgency), especially at night is a sign of diabetes.
- Tiredness: Fatigue and not having enough energy.
- Brain Fog: Having trouble concentrating or making decisions.
- Thirsty, hungry: Both increased hunger and thirst.
- Rapid weight loss: Losing weight without trying.
- Easy infections: Having a constant cycle of skin or body infections.
If you have any of these symptoms, it’s time to see your doctor for an A1C blood test. This test will give you an idea of your blood sugar levels over a few months’ time.
Additionally, there are other steps you can take to get your blood sugar back on track.
Dr. Scott’s Balanced Blood Sugar Protocol:
- Eat well: This means avoiding processed foods, eating good proteins, and as many veggies as you can. Staying away from sugar, grains, and starchy vegetables also helps. If you are going to eat sugar, then do it near a meal (this slows down the absorption of sugar).
- Exercise: Don’t feel that you have to run a marathon to be in shape, but walking, golfing, tennis can all help your body deal with sugar more effectively.
- Inflammation: Buy some cheap health insurance by taking supplements that keep your inflammation low. I like fish oil, curcumin, and Boswellia.
- Berberine: This herbal extract is great for the brain and helps to control blood sugar.
- Chromium: This mineral is well-known to help control blood sugar.

Dear Reader, Think about one of those movies where the good guy actually turns out to be the bad guy. When you find out, it’s usually a BIG shock. Well, this same good guy/bad guy switch has been going on for years in the health industry – and most people don’t know it. In the movie...
Dear Reader, Unfortunately, it’s true — some things just get harder and slower as we get older. I certainly can’t run, or jump, or play as much as I used to. Even your thinking may not be as sharp as it once was. It’s a natural part of life. But while it’s natural for some things...
Dear Reader, Vaccines (whether you’re anti or pro) are based upon a simple principle: Once you get a disease your body knows how to fight it… and you won’t get it again. This type of immunity (called The Adaptive Immune System or the Acquired Immune System) remembers the last time you were infected. And then has soldiers...
Dear Reader, Ask a mainstream doctor what to do about Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and they will shrug their shoulders. What’s worse, some mainstream docs don’t even think IBS is a real condition! And then there are others that hand you pills that are LOADED with extensive side effects. Well, let me tell you, IBS is...
Dear Reader, Our memories are one of the most precious things we have. It’s all the more reason to keep your brain in tip top shape for as long as possible. Dear Reader, COVID-19 took the world by storm. Now, (hopefully) it is starting to calm down. Despite that, I still get questions about what works (and what doesn’t) for stopping this infection… and others. And that is a great question. Because I can guarantee you COVID-19 or something like it will be back. I don’t...
Dear Reader, I’m willing to bet that at one time or another, you’ve battled with your weight. Maybe you tried different diets and even joined a gym. Did you watch that number on the scale bounce back and forth like a yo-yo or felt frustrated when it BARELY moved? And – with quarantine keeping us...
Dear Reader, If you or a loved one already struggles with celiac disease, chances are you know gluten is a huge red a flag. Because, when you eat gluten, your body attacks your small intestine, destroying the tiny villi – the fingerlike projections in your small intestine — which help you absorb food. Villi destruction means that...
