“Light” Solution SLASHES Pain [Ditch Drugs!]

Being an adult HURTS.

Well, for nearly 20 percent of us, at least, it does. Because that’s how many folks are suffering from some sort of pain, according to studies.

We battle migraines, arthritis, cancer, muscle aches, fibromyalgia, and more.

Many folks turn to over-the-counter painkillers, including aspirin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. But with chronic pain, that choice can come with major consequences.

Because these meds have some significant side effects, including stomach bleeding, liver and kidney damage. They typically can only be used safely for short periods.

And prescription drugs are even WORSE.

They can lead to addiction and even be life-threatening. Plus, as your body adjusts to them, their dosage often needs to increase in order to remain effective.

But now a NEW drug-free pain solution has been given the green light…

In a study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, researchers found that literally exposing people to green light can lead to MAJOR pain relief.

Volunteers with fibromyalgia were issued either clear, green, or blue-tinted glasses for the small study.

They were asked to wear the glasses four hours a day for two weeks. And the lucky folks who were issued the green glasses were FOUR TIMES likelier than the other groups to report their pain-related anxiety had significantly declined.

Even more incredibly, their reliance on risky opioid drugs dropped too. In fact, some volunteers were reluctant to return the glasses at the end of the study. (And who could blame them?)

It’s NOT the first time we’ve seen this surprising pain-erasing effect, either.

In other chronic pain studies sitting in a dark room lit by green LED lights or wearing green-tinted glasses has reduced the severity and the frequency of…

  • muscle pain
  • migraines
  • fibromyalgia pain

One earlier study found that exposing people to 1 to 2 hours of green light for 10 weeks reduced migraine headaches by an incredible 70 percent. And in other research, fibromyalgia patients had their pain plunge around 40 to 50 percent.

You’re probably wondering what’s going on here.

Well, it turns out the scientists are wondering the same thing. They aren’t positive yet WHY the green-light therapy is so effective. But we DO have some clues.

We know nerve pathways start in the eyes and end directly in relevant brain regions. Some of those regions are heavily engaged in pain and pain perception.

Exposure to green light somehow breaks the cycle of pain in the brain.

Green light also seems to trigger melanopsin. This light-sensitive brain molecule interacts with brain cells to reduce pain perception.

Before you try this at home you need to know that not any old green light will do. Light of a specific wavelength is required. Scientists say lower, and higher wavelengths towards the ends of the green spectrum appear to work best.

It’s unlikely that you own an expensive spectrophotometer. So there’s no way to guarantee that any green light or pair of green-tinted glasses you buy is the correct wavelength.

Your best bet is to research products specifically designed for pain relief. Then read lots of reviews and make sure the manufacturer has a good reputation.
