Sight-Saving Supplement STOPS Diabetic Blindness

If you’re diabetic, you probably know that you are at much greater risk for losing your eyesight.

Not staying in control of your blood sugar can DAMAGE the sensitive tissues in your eyes, causing your vision to fail as you age.

Now, you probably are already taking measures to help control your blood sugar. That may look like keeping a close eye on your diet, your sugars, and even taking some supplements.

But there’s one sight-saving supplement you NEED to take if you want to keep your eyes in tip-top shape…

In fact, researchers at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center have discovered it can STOP the leading cause of blindness in diabetics.

Diabetic retinopathy is a slow-acting eye condition which results in the loss of vision in those with diabetes.

In diabetic retinopathy, high blood sugar damages the blood vessels in the back of your eye. Your body tries to fix the blood vessels by growing new ones. This overgrowth of blood vessels blocks the sensitive, light-sensing tissue called the retina.

Most diabetics don’t notice the slow creep of vision loss.

And yes, your first step is to make sure you control your blood sugar by eating wellexercising, and taking the right supplements.

But you also want to take specific nutrients to battle diabetic retinopathy.

And that’s is where this recent research comes in…

A new study, published in the American Journal of Pathology, found that diabetic mice given Vitamin A SIGNIFICANTLY improved their vision function.

We already know that Vitamin A is crucial for vision and eye health. It is an essential component of rhodopsin–a protein that absorbs light in the retina. It also is vital for the health of the cornea and conjunctival membranes.

The researchers injected the mice with one dose of Vitamin A and found their eyesight improved across all measures.

Which is why Vitamin A is a superstar fighter against diabetic retinopathy.

Add Vitamin A to your routine (especially if you are diabetic)!

But let’s take it even a step further to save your sight…

Dr. Scott’s Vision Improvement Regimen:

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: DHA found in fish oil is an Omega-3 fatty acid. The photoreceptors in the retina are made up of 50 percent DHA. I suggest you supplement with one to three grams of fish oil a day.
  • Berries: I’m a big fan of berries, they contain many powerful antioxidant compounds. Berries are high in essential vitamins and flavonoids your eyes need. Studies show that blueberries may help with night vision, but so do bilberries, raspberries, and Maqui berries.
  • Lutein and Zeaxanthin: These carotenoids are found in colorful fruits and vegetables and help the macula determine color vision.

Your eyes are the windows to the world.

If you want to keep your ‘windows’ clean and clear for your entire life, take extra measures NOW to protect them.
