This Weird Fix STOPS Allergies Cold

Allergies can make your life MISERABLE. 

The itchy eyes… the runny nose… and constant sneezing can test anyone’s sanity. 

But stopping your allergies isn’t just a matter of avoiding mold, pollen, pet dander, and other triggers.  

Allergies are also caused by a broken immune system. 

But here’s the good news… 

Fixing your immune system – and stopping allergies in their tracks – just got A LOT easier. 

Allergic reactions can occur many ways. 

But one of the most common is to have an immune cell called immunoglobulin E (or IgE) attach to the allergen. 

That attachment (IgE to allergen) triggers all your symptoms: runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing… the allergic reaction is your body trying to move junk out.

A new study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology found a way to stop that IgE from attaching in the first place. 

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Children's Center reviewed the medical records of more than 8,000 people, ages 2 to 85, and found that the levels of folic acid in their bodies were directly related to their allergy symptoms. 

It turns out, the more folic acid you have, the less IgE you have

And that means fewer allergy symptoms for you. 

The current recommendations for folic acid is 400 micrograms a day and that is way too low – especially in people who tend to have allergic reactions (people with asthma, eczema, hay fever, etc.). 

Consider doubling that to 800 micrograms a day and watch your allergy symptoms drop. 

But there is more you can do. 

Dr. Scott’s Allergy Program: 

  • Carotenoids and other phytonutrients are great for the lungs and help to reduce oxidant damage. You can find phytonutrients in fruits, vegetables, and my favorite: superfoods blends. 
  • Magnesium is a well-known deficiency in people with allergic conditions. I generally suggest 400-800 milligrams of an absorbable magnesium (such as magnesium citrate, magnesium glycinate, or a magnesium amino acid chelate.) 
  • Vegetables are especially important for people with asthma. I prefer cruciferous veggies (bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, radish, turnips, watercress) as well as garlic and onions. 
  • Probiotics (healthy gut bacteria) are important to overall health and the health of the immune system. Many studies have shown how taking probiotics can reduce asthma attacks. 
  • Anti-inflammatories.  Asthma is an inflammatory disease. Fight this with one to three grams of omega-3 fatty acids a day, curcumin, Boswellia, and an anti-inflammatory diet. 
  • Avoid processed foods, trans fats, and too many sugars.
