A new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows that seniors who participate in leisurely physical activity (such as walking, gardening, swimming…) are EXTENDING THEIR LIVES.
The researchers found that people who were active for an hour A WEEK had an 18 percent lower risk of death from all causes, including cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s.
Even death from accidents were lower!
Exercise for an hour a week? Anyone can do that (that is only 8 minutes a day!).
If you wanted to push it a bit more and exercise two hours a week, then you could kick that number up to 46 percent reduction in death from all causes.
Now we’re talking 17 minutes a day for an almost 50 percent reduction in death and increased brain power!
But here is the thing: if you exercise more than five hours a week there was no added benefit.
So you can chain yourself to the treadmill for longer, but you would not get any better payoff.
Shoot for the sweet-spot of exercise by walking, gardening, cleaning the house for about 10-20 minutes every day.
Do this and your brain and body will thank you.
