Beat Cancer… With a Bloody Mary?!?
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Imagine a cancer treatment so powerful that it forces tumor cells to kill themselves… all while leaving healthy tissue untouched.
And this isn’t some mainstream drug that’s going to poison you, making your hair fall out and leaving you doubled over the toilet.
Sounds good, right?
Well, University of Illinois researchers may have just found it.
They’ve discovered that a common condiment could be the natural, simple way to crush cancer without chemicals and painful surgeries.
And it’s so safe that you’re already putting it on your roast beef and in your bloody Marys.
I’m talking about horseradish.
And as it turns out, this spicy root has a lot more to offer than adding a kick to your roast beef, cocktail sauce and bloody marys — it’s also chock-full of powerful cancer-crushing compounds.
The research team identified these novel molecules as glucosinolates, which give horseradish its biting flavor and also fight cancer by activating detoxifying enzymes and neutralizing cancer-causing free radicals.
Even better, they can eradicate cancer cells by triggering them to commit suicide without damaging healthy cells.
This means by eating horseradish you can protect yourself from cancer cells before they have a chance to grow. I doubt there’s a mainstream treatment that can do that.
Horseradish is far from the only plant to contain these powerful compounds.
Other veggies like cabbage, kale and arugula contain glucosinolates, but at much lower levels. For instance, horseradish has 10 times the amount of these cancer-crushing compounds as broccoli does.
But what really sets horseradish apart is how little of you need to get a healthy dose of cancer-crushing glucosinolates — just a teaspoon. You can easily add this to your favorite cocktail, beef dish, soup or salad every day.
Horseradish is easy to find. Most grocers carry it in the produce section. Be sure to purchase it in root form and at the highest grade available. This way you can get the most cancer-fighting power from this spicy root.
Live well,
