Kitchen Cure Tackles Cancer AND Depression

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

“Stay positive.”

Chances are if you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, you’ve heard this saying.

And while it may be difficult to heed this advice in a time of crisis, there’s a scientific reason you should — staying positive instead of getting sad or anxious could help you beat cancer.

New research published in The BMJ shows that folks who are depressed or anxious are far more likely to die from their cancer.

Luckily, there’s a tasty spice that can help you fight depression, anxiety and cancer all at the same time.

U.K. researchers analyzed 16 different studies that included over 163,000 participants to see if there’s a link between depression and anxiety and cancer survival.

After sifting through the data, the scientist uncovered some shocking results…

Those who experienced the most stress and feeling of withdrawal after being diagnosed with cancer were a whopping 32 percent more likely to die from it!

Researchers went on to discover that this link greatly increased with some specific cancers.

For instance, folks who were anxious and depressed with prostate and pancreatic cancer doubled their chances of dying.

Even worse, people with leukemia were four times as likely to perish from the disease when experiencing poor mental health.

Scientists are still unsure of exactly how this association works, but this research helps further establish the link between mental and physical health.

Fortunately, a powerful spice can help you improve both aspects of your health, especially if you’re dealing with cancer — curcumin, a compound found in the spice turmeric.

And while you’ve probably heard that curcumin is good for anything from inflammation to cognitive issues, it still has more to offer…

Research shows that curcumin is just as effect at fighting depression as the popular drug Prozac.

But the good news doesn’t end there…

Curcumin is also an active cancer fighter. Some studies have shown curcumin can kill cancer cells and even prevent them from growing.

This means by taking curcumin, you can give cancer a one-two punch by killing cancer cells and fighting depression at the same time.

Curcumin can be found in natural health stores or through online retailers. Just be sure to look for an optimized formula, so your body can absorb all of its healing powers.

Live well,
