Free Nutrient Works Better Than Flu Shots

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

For decades, we’ve been told that there’s only one way to fight the flu — and that’s to roll up our sleeves for the flu shot.

And it’s nonsense.

Some years the flu shot has failed more than 90 percent of the time for seniors. And even this year, the government admits it’s failing as often as it’s working.

You deserve more reliable protection — and scientists have just discovered it.

Thanks to some research recently published in BMJ, we now know there’s a dead simple way to protect yourself from the flu that’s got nothing to do with vaccines.

In fact, this miracle nutrient has been shown to help you fight infections better than the flu shot.

And the best part — it’s 100 percent free.

This flu-fighting breakthrough is vitamin D.

And while it’s long been regarded for bone and heart health, more recent science shows it’s downright critical for our immune systems.

For this study, an international group of researchers examined 25 randomized controlled trials that included about 11,000 participants from over a dozen countries. All studies focused on vitamin D’s effects on infections.

After crunching the numbers, the scientists found that vitamin D supplements are more likely to stop cases of the flu than the flu shot.

And that’s not too hard to do when you consider 40 people have to take flu shot to stop just one case of the flu.

Even better, people who were vitamin D deficient saw their risk of catching the flu slashed in half after supplementing with vitamin D.

Overall folks saw a 12 percent increase in immunity against infections when taking vitamin D supplements.

An important note — the researchers found that vitamin D worked best for folks taking daily or weekly supplements rather than those taking intermittent mega doses.

This means taking vitamin D everyday could protect you from the flu better than Western medicine’s worthless vaccine.

You can get vitamin D free through sun exposure. It only takes about 15 minutes of unprotected sun bathing to get your levels up.

However, if you live in a region where daily sun exposure isn’t an option, you can always opt for a supplement. You can pick them up at your local pharmacy or through trusted online retailers.

Be sure to select a supplement that uses vitamin D3. This type is vitamin D’s natural form and is best used in by your body.

Live well,
