Could This “Health Drink” Kill You?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

For decades, we’ve heard that milk “does a body good.”

But truth be told — it can do a body bad, too. Believe it or not, milk consumption has been linked to everything from inflammation to increased risk of bone fractures (yes, you read that right).

And that’s not the worst part…

According to some groundbreaking research out of Stockholm, drinking too much milk could actually land you in an early grave.

But before you dump that gallon of 2% down the drain, there’s something you need to know.

You don’t necessarily need to stop drinking milk… but you do need to change how you drink it.

For this study, scientists analyzed nutritional data from over 100,000 Swedish folks. After crunching the numbers, the researchers came to a shocking conclusion…

Too much milk can kill you!

The results showed that women who drank at least three glasses of milk a day were 60 percent more likely to die earlier than those who drank less.

When it came to men, those who drank at least three glasses of milk a day had a 30 percent higher risk of dying earlier when compared with those who abstained from or rarely drank milk.

After you see stats like that, I understand if you want to quit milk cold turkey. And trust me – there’s plenty of science proving that it’s never been the health drink that the dairy industry made it out to be.

But if you really enjoy milk, it turns out that there are a few ways to have your milk and drink it, too.

The researchers believe milk is so deadly because it induces oxidative stress and inflammation — two of the key drivers behind all diseases.

To counteract these deadly forces, you can load up on antioxidants by eating fruits and veggies and drinking hydrogen water.

Additionally, milk may be so dangerous because it contains calcium, which can lead to arterial stiffness if you’re not taking the right vitamins.

You see, when calcium enters the body, it needs helpers to get to your bones instead of staying in your arteries, where it can create dangerous blockages. These helpers are vitamins D3 and K2. Vitamin K2 helps direct calcium into your bones and away from your arteries, and vitamin D3 helps your bones absorb it.

That means taking this powerful nutrient combo can help keep your arteries clear and your bones strong, which makes it a no-brainer addition to a calcium-rich diet.

Live well,
