Kill Cancer in Just 15 Minutes a Day

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

“It’s nothing a little sunshine can’t fix.”

Chances are you’ve heard this as the cure for anything from the common cold to depression.

And while sunshine does improve your health in many levels, there’s a new scientific reason why you should spend more time soaking up rays — it can help you fight cancer.

In fact, according to some groundbreaking research published in the journal Dermato-Endocrinology, sunlight exposure can help you fight off a host of invasive cancers.

In fact, there’s a good chance that it could end up saving your life.

For years, scientists have known the health benefits of sun exposure are powerful (no matter what those folks peddling sunscreen want you to believe), but this latest research is still turning heads.

For the study, researchers cross-examined daily sunlight information for the U.S. with U.S. cancer cases and death rates over a 12-year period.

After sifting through all the mountains of data, the researchers found something incredible…

Folks who lived in areas with the most sunshine saw a significant decrease in invasive cancer diagnosis.

Invasive cancer is any type of cancer that has spread beyond the tissue where it first developed. It can be tough to beat and often leads to radical treatments and even death.

Even better? For seven of these cancers — leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and uterine, esophageal, lung, ovarian and urinary bladder cancers — increased sun exposure was linked to a lower risk of death.

This means spending a little more time in the sun could boost your chances of beating cancer and even death!

It’s still unclear what the direct correlation between the sun and cancer is. Researchers believe vitamin D plays a key role in the sun’s cancer protective powers since it reduces cancer cell growth in many ways.

You can get vitamin D free through sun exposure. It takes only about 15 minutes of unprotected sunbathing to get your levels up.

However, if you live in a region where you can’t get your daily rays, you can always opt for a supplement. You can pick them up at your local pharmacy or through trusted online retailers.

Be sure to select a supplement that uses vitamin D3. This type is vitamin D’s natural form and is best used in by your body.

Live well,
