Weird Potato Kills Cancer

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Imagine a world where you could eat potatoes and fight cancer at the same time…

Seems far-fetched, right?

Potatoes can’t possibly be good for you — they are full of cancer-feeding carbs and sugar, right?

But as it turns out, research from Penn State University shows there’s an unusual type of potato that’s a proven cancer killer and much more.

In fact, it’s also loaded with special compounds that can help balance your gut bacteria and stop inflammation in its tracks.

And believe it or not — you should enjoy this tasty treat every single day if you want to help keep cancer at bay.

So what is this magic type of potato?

The purple potato!

In a recent study, scientists tested purple potato extract against colon cancer cells in a laboratory.

After exposing cancer cells to purple potato extract, the researchers were blown away…

The purple potatoes didn’t just kill regular colon cancer cells: They also destroyed the stems cells.

This discovery is so incredible because stem cells are the root of cancer growth — if you can’t kill off the stem cells, you will never beat the cancer.

Researchers believe purple potatoes are so effective because they contain several unique compounds that work together to help kill the cancer stem cells.

Some of these include prebiotic fibers that boost your “good” gut bacteria and, in turn, help regulate inflammation and your immune system — two of the key drivers behind cancer.

Additionally, purple potatoes contain powerful antioxidants called anthocyanins, which have been shown to do everything from fight free radicals to help you lose weight.

According to the study, eating one large or two medium baked purple potatoes every day should do the trick if you’re trying to fight off colon cancer.

Worried about the taste?

Don’t be. Purple potatoes taste just like regular potatoes and can be used in all of your favorite recipes.

Purple potatoes are easily found at specialty grocers like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods and some farmers markets.

Live well,
