Miracle Molecule STOPS Stroke Damage
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Having a stroke is terrifying.
And if you’re fortunate enough to survive one, you’re often faced with a long and costly road to regaining your health and freedom.
But it looks like that might be about to change.
You see, some gifted researchers from Louisiana State University have just pinpointed a miracle molecule that might be the stroke recovery breakthrough of the century.
And the best part — it’s affordable and doesn’t require a prescription.
I’m talking about docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a fatty acid found in some types of fish oil.
You see, DHA helps your body produce a very special molecule called neuroprotectin D1 (NPD1).
Scientists have been studying NPD1 for years because of its ability to shield your brain and eye cells from the damage and death caused by oxidative stress and inflammation — two key drivers of all diseases.
More recently, LSU researchers decided to look at how NPD1 stacks up against the oxidative stress associated with stroke.
For the study, scientists induced stroke in retina cells and then exposed them to NDP1.
And what they found was incredible…
The NDP1 not only repaired the DNA damage caused by stroke… it also slowed down the type of cell death specific to stroke!
Even better, its performance peaked six hours after the onset of oxidative stress. This means NPD1 works hard to protect your cells well after the damage is done.
Quite a feat for a tiny molecule.
DHA is found in some types of fish, like salmon and tuna. Typically, two–three servings of fish a week will keep your DHA levels in check.
If you don’t have the taste for fish, you can find fish oil supplements through natural health retailers. Just be sure it’s been molecularly distilled for the highest level of purity.
