Mailbag! Big Pharma’s ALS Rip-Off
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
You’ve got questions…
We’ve got answers!
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, can turn your life upside down. In just a matter of time, it can take your freedom to walk, talk and even breathe on your own.
And while the mainstream has failed to find a cure for this debilitating disease, the FDA just approved a new drug to treat it.
But the only problem is Big Pharma charges $145,000 for a year’s worth of treatments.
And believe it or not — you could get the same type of treatment for thousands less.
Let’s dive in…
Hey Natalie,
I just heard that the FDA approved its first ALS drug in 22 years and it’s an antioxidant. The cost, which is more than my mortgage, seems extravagant for an antioxidant. Do you know why that is?
Also, are there any natural solutions for ALS that don’t cost an arm and a leg?
Thanks,
Larry G.
Great question, Larry.
The answer is simple — Big Pharma is greedy.
For years now, they’ve synthesized and patented all sorts of natural compounds to make a profit and convince you their version is the most effective.
Unfortunately, this new drug, called Radicava, is no different.
You see, Big Pharma didn’t just think up using antioxidants to fight ALS. Powerful antioxidants like glutathione have been used in the treatment of ALS for ages, with good results.
Antioxidants work so well because they help shield the body from the oxidative stress caused by ALS, which is exactly what Radicava does — except you’ll have to drain your bank account to get your hands on it.
So what happened here is what’s happened so many times in the past…
Big Pharma put a patent on a natural substance and is now charging you a bundle for it.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
There are two antioxidants that you can still get in their natural, inexpensive form that can help you fight the oxidative stress caused by ALS — glutathione and CoQ10.
Studies in the past have shown that folks suffering from ALS can have low levels of glutathione and CoQ10. Supplementing with this powerful duo could help shield your body from free radicals and inflammation — two of the key drivers of all diseases, not just ALS.
You can get glutathione and CoQ10 supplements from your local pharmacy or through online retailers like puritan.com.
