Powerhouse Combo KILLS Cancer
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Cancer is hard to beat.
And if you’re lucky enough to survive the sickening chemo and painful surgeries that treat it, there’s still a good chance your cancer will come back.
But it looks like it doesn’t have to be this way much longer.
Because researchers from the U.K. have just discovered a powerhouse combination that kills cancer at its source.
And believe it or not — it doesn’t require chemo or an operating room.
I’m talking about vitamin C and antibiotics.
And while these might seem like common compounds, they have incredible cancer-fighting powers when used together.
In a recent study, researchers from the University of Salford tested the effects of these two compounds in cancer stem cells, a hardy type of cell that fuels tumor growth.
Stem cells are dangerous because they are able to alternate between food sources. Therefore, when a drug reduces the level of a certain nutrient, the cells can start feeding on a different one.
In the lab, the scientists first treated the stem cells with increasing doses of the antibiotic doxycycline for three months. This stopped the cancer cells from feeding on different sources in the body, forcing them to rely solely on sugar.
Next, they hit the cells with a dose of vitamin C, and what they found was incredible…
The vitamin C stopped the stem cells from absorbing sugar, which starved them to death.
But the good news doesn’t stop there.
After taking a closer look, the researchers found that this humble combination is almost 100 times more effective at halting cancer cell growth than typical cancer drugs such as 2-DG.
Experts agree that this winning combination could be the cancer treatment of the future, since it’s nontoxic, has few or no side effects and helps to stop cancer at its source.
Better than cancer drugs and won’t make you sick? Sounds like a dream come true.
Clinical trials are not yet scheduled for the duo, but I will let you know as soon as they are.
Live well,
