This “Muscle Hack” Adds YEARS to Your Life

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

There is an amazing trick that could add 5, 10, or even 20 years to your life.

It doesn’t have anything to do with your genes… or your blood sugar… or your brain.

It’s all about your muscles. And, believe it or not, keeping your muscles strong may be the #1 predictor of how long you live.

Astonishing… but true.

But if you gave up on your muscles a long time ago (or they gave up on you), don’t worry.

Because I’m going to show you some simple “hacks” to whip them back into shape… all without sweating your life away in some gym.

If you’re shocked by the idea that muscle tone affects how long you live, trust me – many of my patients were shocked to learn the same thing.

But research has proven it over… and over… and over again.

You have over 600 muscles in your body and keeping them strong is more important to your health than any doctor or health guru will tell you.

What can muscles do to keep you healthy?

  • They allow you to move around and exercise – and that’s critical to your health and your independence.
  • Good muscle tone helps keep joints and bones healthy.
  • Low muscle tone is a common feature in many chronic diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, fragile bones, and even stress.
  • Muscles play a strong role in your metabolism – if you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, good muscle tone is a key.
  • More muscle increases insulin sensitivity which helps to keep your blood sugar low.
  • The amount of muscle you have determines how well you might survive a long-term illness.

Now, of course, you know what I’m going to say next.

One of the most important elements of muscle building is exercise.

But it doesn’t have to be anything crazy – just get out and move your body.

Second, you have to give your muscles the fuel they need. And this is what many health experts get wrong.

I see a lot of suggestions for using one specific amino acid (a building block of proteins) or another. But usually those recommendations are coming from folks trying to sell you something.

The truth is, to build great muscles you need all the amino acids – including what are called the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).

The best sources of BCAAs are meat, chicken, fish, dairy and eggs – and you want all of them in your diet.

But that is not enough either.

You need a good number of vitamins (especially the B vitamins) and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc (which helps build the hormone testosterone – which helps build muscles).

You can get a lot of those in a quality multi-vitamin – so if you’re not taking one, it’s time to start.

Combining exercise with the right fuel will go a long way toward keeping your muscles in shape.

And that will go a long way toward keeping you alive and kicking.

Health and Happiness,
