Throw This Cancer “Research” in the Trash

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I’ve seen some junk studies in my day… but this one just might take first place.

By now you may have heard about new “research” trying to scare you away from alternative cancer treatments.

It claims you’ll die faster – which is the exact OPPOSITE of what alternative doctors like me have seen in the field.

And if you smell a rat with this study, well, you’re right.

Because there’s plenty about this research that you weren’t supposed to know – and I’m going to spill the beans.

The problems start with the study co-author, Dr. Skyler Johnson, an oncologist at the Yale School of Medicine.

First, Dr. Johnson claims that she couldn’t identify specific alternative treatments that people used in the study.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

You don’t know what people in the study were taking? So how on Earth can you draw ANY conclusions?

People could have been using magic crystals to heal their cancer for all we know.

From just that, you can throw out this study… but it gets worse.

The study also didn’t compare apples to apples (or stage 4 cancer to stage 4 cancer) – which is just bad, bad science.

What bothered me most, though, was the use of the words “unproven methods” to describe alternative medicine.

Because (and most people don’t know this) most chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery have never been proven in studies.

So, when you walk into your doctor and are told that you have cancer and that your only solution is chemotherapy – ask to see the studies proving that the treatment you are going through works better than doing nothing.

Your doctor won’t be able to provide you with the studies because they don’t exist.

There are, however, plenty of proven alternative medicines:

  • Vitamin C: High doses of vitamin C has been shown in many studies to help support cancer treatment.
  • Ginseng: Is an herb that also has numerous studies that supports its use for fighting cancer.
  • Turmeric: Has been shown to help with breast cancer, bowel cancer, stomach cancer and skin cancer cells
  • Immune-Boosting Mushrooms: These medical mushrooms have thousands of studies that show they are helpful in boosting the immune system, reducing spreading of cancer cells, and increasing killing of cancer cells. I’ve used them many, many times myself.

And that is just a handful of alternative medicine treatments that work to stop cancer.

This “study” is the kind of cherry-picking of statistics that I hate. The study authors use it to fit a narrative to make you scared of anything that is not a drug.

Everyone who has cancer has to make many decisions about their health, but we should be using our science to make good decisions and not to prop up multi-billion-dollar drug companies.

Health and Happiness,
