This “Missing Nutrient” REVERSES Failing Health
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
Once you hit a certain age, it feels like all your health problems start at once, right?
You’re in constant pain… you can’t sleep… and your stomach problems are giving you fits.
But what if you could fix all of those problems at the same time – just by getting more of one simple vitamin?
Scientists have just discovered that one “missing nutrient” may have the power to reverse failing health and erase several serious conditions.
And the way it works is guaranteed to surprise you.
A new study, published in the journal Medical Hypotheses, looked at over 1,000 patients who had pain and digestive issues.
The scientists decided to give these people vitamin D to see what happened to their health.
And what they discovered was amazing.
Supplementing with vitamin D completely changed their gut bacteria and promoted the growth of four different healthy species of gut bacteria: Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Proteobacteria.
But they were puzzled to discover that supplementing with vitamin D also increased B vitamin levels.
The scientists discovered that the additional B vitamins were being manufactured from the healthy bacteria.
All of which looked great to the scientists.
But what was even more amazing is that people in the study slept better, had reduced stress hormone production, decreased inflammation, dropped pain… all of which added up to reduced risk for conditions such as heart disease and stroke.
All from one simple supplement.
The key to these benefits comes from the interrelationship between our gut bacteria and the nutrients we consume.
The scientists began to think that most of our B vitamins are supposed to come from healthy gut bacteria.
There are a few problems with that.
The first is that you are probably not getting enough vitamin D.
How do I know that? Because studies show as many as 40 percent of us are not getting enough vitamin D.
And, we are also not getting enough healthy bacteria.
Luckily, there are easy solutions for that:
- Everyone who lives in the United States should be taking 1,000-2,000 IU of Vitamin D every day. If you work outside, then you can stop in the summer, but you still need to take it in the winter.
- Take a good probiotic with plenty of healthy gut bacteria. You don’t have to look for the specific strains in the study, chances are they are not the only bacteria to support good gut health and produce B vitamins.
Even a few years ago, no one would have guessed that vitamin D changes gut bacteria which then produces much-needed B vitamins.
It’s just the latest proof that supplementing with Vitamin D is a great idea for almost anyone.
