Revealed! The Secret Cause of Memory Loss

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Do you know someone with Alzheimer’s?

It seems like we all do… and the problem is only getting worse.

The Centers for Disease Control reported a 55 percent increase in deaths due to Alzheimer’s and related dementias in that last 15 years.

If that doesn’t scare you, it should.

The pain and suffering is awful when someone close to you has Alzheimer’s – but even worse when you start to feel like your own brain is betraying you.

The good news is most of the research points to a key villain that’s causing your memory loss.

And it’s reversible… once you have the right tools.

Scientists who study the brain and memory point to key element in the development of dementia: Inflammation.

A new study demonstrated just how inflammation (and the proteins of inflammation called cytokines) disrupt memory and interfere with brain communication responsible for memory.

Inflammation (you may know) is necessary in your body, but it is supposed to rise and then sink again.

For a lot of people, inflammation is a full-time condition and becomes chronic inflammation.

Chronic inflammation in your body causes your memory to fade and aids in the development of plaques in your brain (a key feature of Alzheimer’s disease).

If there is one thing I’ve learned from a lifetime of studying nutrition is that preventing a condition is far easier than treating it, but you have to take action now to prevent permanent changes in your brain.

We can take a clue from people’s diet. Those who eat a lot of fish or turmeric don’t suffer from dementia as much as we do because they have lower inflammation.

So, let’s put a stop to inflammation.

Dr. Scott’s Anti-Inflammation Protocol:

  • Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties. If you like turmeric, get as much as you can. If not, take a curcumin supplement.
  • Fish oil is great at reducing inflammation throughout the body. Studies have shown its ability to lower the risk for heart disease, dementia, and many other diseases.
  • Exercise is so helpful to the brain that it should be considered a medicine on its own. There are a million ways to exercise — find something you love and do it often.
  • Avoid vegetable oils because these oils increase inflammation throughout the body. Keeping these oils out of your diet means avoiding processed foods as much as possible.

No one wants to lose their brain as they grow older. It is not a good way to leave this life.

You can avoid the fate you see in many people around you by taking these steps and keeping inflammation under control.

Health and Happiness,

Scott Olson
