Energy Tanking? Try This Simple Fix

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

We’ve all been there.

The lawn needs to be mowed… the sink is full of dishes… and the fridge is nearly empty.

But we just don’t have the energy we need to get things done.

If your energy levels are tanking, you may be constantly reaching for a coffee or a sugary snack.

But I want to show you a better, long-term solution.

Because it’s very likely that your energy problems can be traced back to one, simple cause.

And it’s incredibly easy to fix.

Your brain is your biggest consumer of energy in your body.

That’s why any drop in energy sends your brain crashing… and leaves you curled up on the couch.

But your digestive system uses a ton of energy, too. And the foods you put into it have a huge effect on how much energy you have.

What has the biggest impact on our energy levels?

Carbohydrates:

  • Carbohydrates cause blood sugar to go up and down. They can give us short periods of energy, but these are followed by long periods of feeling tired. Keeping your blood sugar stable is one of the keys to productivity and maintaining a constant supply of energy.
  • When you eat carbohydrates (sugars, grains, starches), this increases the amino acids tryptophan and tyrosine that make us feel tired.

When we’re feeling worn out, we typically crave something sugary. But that only traps us in a cycle where our long-term energy is zapped.

There is a way out of this energy-sucking cycle, and it is your key to long-term energy.

Dr. Scott’s Plan for Constant Energy

  • Build your meals around proteins and healthy vegetables.
  • I’m not going to suggest you stay away from all carbohydrates, but that you eat them with your major meal. This way they are absorbed slowly into your blood stream and you never have a big spike in blood sugar (followed by a big drop).
  • Take blood sugar stabilizers such as the mineral chromium and herb extracts such as berberine.
  • Get your body moving. While this seems backwards, using energy (by exercising) actually increases your overall energy.

There are times to be a couch potato – but you don’t want to spend your whole life there.

Follow these simple steps and you will find that you have more energy than you ever thought possible.

Health and Happiness,

Scott Olson
