Is This “Super Mineral” DESTROYING Your Brain?
For decades now, mainstream medicine has had a love affair with calcium.
If you ask me, it’s more like a fatal attraction.
Calcium is only ONE mineral our bodies and bones need – and not even the most important.
But starting almost 40 years ago, scientists started recommending people take 1,200 milligrams of calcium a day.
And that’s not just bad advice – it could actually be wrecking your brain.
Let me show you how.
An international team of scientists led by the University of Cambridge found that taking large amount of calcium leads to calcium in our brains.
And, trust me – you don’t want that.
Excess calcium increases a protein called alpha-synuclein and leads to brain cell death and even Parkinson’s disease.
How do people get too much calcium? Easy — they follow the recommendations of government health organizations and doctors, and take 1,200 milligrams a day.
This is silly because the animals with the largest bones on the planet, like elephants and giraffes, hardly eat any calcium at all.
They all have strong bones because they eat plants all day long, which contain vitamin K, and they are out in the sun, which provides them with vitamin D.
Calcium supplements are essentially rocks (calcium carbonate) and no human should be putting those in their mouths.
If you want healthy bones, all you need to do is follow this simple plan:
Dr. Scott’s Healthy Bone Plan:
- Protein is the forgotten nutrient needed for good bone health. Most proteins will help with bone growth, but collagen is extremely important to build good bones. I take a powdered collagen product because collagen is hard to get in our diets.
- Vitamin D is necessary for your body to absorb any calcium in your diet (so it doesn’t go places like your brain). Vitamin D sends a message to your digestive tract to pull calcium from your food.
- Vitamin K is another necessary and forgotten nutrient essential for bone building. Vitamin K moves the calcium from the gut to the bones (again, instead of your brain). Remember, if you are on blood thinners, check with your doctor when taking vitamin K.
- Many minerals are also important for bone health, including magnesium, boron, and chromium.
