[Alert] Blood Pressure Meds Giving You CANCER?

There must be some contest going on in the medical profession that I wasn’t told about.

Doctors these days seem to be competing to see who can hand out the most blood pressure drugs.

The use of blood pressure meds has EXPLODED over the past 20 years – and there are literally DOZENS of drugs on the market.

But one class of blood pressure medications comes with a VERY dark secret.

It’s been contaminated with a dangerous cancer-causing chemical.

And you need to act fast to keep yourself and the people you love safe.

You may have seen the headlines: the Food and Drug Administration issued a recall of some medications used to treat high blood pressure.

The drugs, Diovan (Valsartan) or Diovan HCT, sold by TEVA Pharmaceuticals, were contaminated with a cancer-causing chemical called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).

But here’s what’s buried in the headlines that should worry you: TEVA did not produce the drugs, but had an outside company (Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical in China) make them.

This is a disturbing trend in pharmaceutical companies – shipping manufacturing overseas (because apparently, drug companies don’t make enough money already).

China, in case you don’t know, isn’t the best place to manufacture. Their lack of regulations makes China a cheap place to make drugs, but not a safe one.

If you’re taking Diovan or Diovan HCT, call your doctor’s office right away.

This latest scandal is why I always suggest using drugs as a last resort.

There are many problems with drugs including:

  • Over 100,000 people die each year from drugs that were properly administered. Studies show prescription medications are the third-leading cause of death in the United States (behind heart disease and cancer).
  • Over-the-counter drugs (ones you can buy at the grocery store) are not safe either. They cause lots of pain and death and can destroy your gastrointestinal tract.
  • Drugs are addictive. Once you start a drug, they can be almost impossible to stop. That’s especially true with drugs for high blood pressure and blood thinners.
  • The side effects of drugs are often worse than the original problem they are trying to solve. Side effects often lead to polypharmacy (people taking multiple drugs) where you are given a drug to counteract another drug.
  • Finally, and perhaps the biggest reason to not take drugs: they do nothing to address the root problem. Finding the root cause of a disease cures you of a health problem, while drugs just cover up the problem.

Before you start any drug, talk to your doctor about natural alternatives. If he’s not open to the idea, seek another opinion.
