The REAL Reason You Have Brain Fog
Andrew sat in my office telling me his brain felt “fuzzy.”
He had problems remembering things and he couldn't concentrate or focus.
It’s what I call “brain fog,” and most folks have a really hard time getting treated for it.
That’s because lots of docs won’t even acknowledge that it’s a real condition.
But if you suffer from brain fog, you know very well that it’s real… and debilitating.
So let me explain what’s causing it… and how you can fix it for good.
Brain fog isn'ta typical condition that’s taught in medical school.
But, like I said, brain fog is real. Many people experience memory problems, lack of mental clarity, poor concentration, and an inability to focus.
But what these symptoms are is usually a sign of another condition like:
- Chronic stress: Besides increasing your blood pressure, weakening your immune system, and triggering anxiety and depression, stress takes a toll on your brain. With chronic stress, your brain becomes tired and that makes it harder to think, reason, and focus.
- Lack of sleep: There's nothing that will bring on brain fog quicker than not getting your 40 winks. Sleeping less than eight hours a night leads to poor concentration, cloudy thoughts, feelings of depression, and even anxiety.
- Nutritional deficiencies: Lack of many vitamins, especially the B vitamins, can cause your brain to feel out of sorts. Omega 3s are also important for brain function, as are magnesium and zinc.
- Medications: The list of drugs that can cause brain fog is too long to list here. If you feel strange when you take a drug, talk to your doctor about changing the drug to another one.
Your best bet to avoid brain fog is to check the list above and then make sure you are taking care of your brain the best you can. Here are some other things you can try:
Dr. Scott’s Better Brain Program
- Eat a diet high in vegetables and good proteins.
- Avoid processed foods and foods with too much sugar and vegetable oils. These increase inflammation in the body – which is deadly to your brain.
- Keep your blood sugar under control. Blood sugar and brain health are closely tied together. If you need help controlling blood sugar, look to supplements that contain chromium and berberine.
- Mitochondrial support: Mitochondria are the energy-producing parts of your cells (including brain cells). Supplement with CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, astaxanthin, selenium, and vitamin E to give your brain mitochondria a boost.
- Eat good fats. The very best fat you can put in your body are the omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil). Not only does your brain need these oils, but fish oils also help to tamp down runaway inflammation.
- Exercise. There is not a single thing that is better for your brain than exercise. Get out and move your body around every day.
