[Exposed] Big Pharma’s PATHETIC Cash Grab

I don’t have to tell you that prescription drug prices are out of control.

And for years, Big Pharma has said it wasn’t their fault.

They blame the insurance companies… hospitals… and even Uncle Sam.

But now the drug companies have been caught red-handed.

Because doctors just found a way to shave $100,000 off the cost of a ridiculously-priced $150,000 drug.

And I’ll give you ONE guess what Big Pharma did…

Recently, a group of cancer doctors noticed something interesting about an anticancer drug.

The drug (called ibrutinib) is usually taken four times a day.

The doctors found many of their patients were only taking one ibrutinib a day, and they were still getting better.

The doctors decided to investigate and launched their own mini-trial.

Their small trial supported the lower doses of the drug: patients only needed one a day.

Taking just one pill a day could dramatically reduce costs to around $50,000 a year.

And this dosing would reduce unpleasant side effects, such as diarrhea, muscle and bone pain, and fatigue.

But just as doctors were gearing up for a larger trial of the lower dosages, the makers of the drug revealed plans to triple the price of the drug and change pill dosages (making it impossible to dose the drugs as the doctors wanted).

The drug companies did this because now they will make money either way.

If patients drop down to a lower dose, they will still pay the same $150,000 a year.

The doctors wrote a commentary in the weekly newsletter, Cancer Letters, this month, telling their story and calling on the FDA to look into the matter.

What has happened since?

Crickets. Silence.

Of course. Drug companies are not looking out for your health, they are looking to make money.

This drug is not alone. A recent report on 60 Minutes showed how a drug called Acthar went from $40 in 2001 to over $40,000 today.

You can buy Acthar in Canada for $33 (and about the same in Europe).

And you may have heard: the price of the EpiPen, a common injectable drug product for people with extreme allergies, went from $57 in 2007 to roughly $600 in 2016.

All this shows that drug companies run rampant in the U.S. and can do whatever they want.

You may have insurance, but trust me, you are still paying for these expenses.

There is no answer in sight: Medicare isn’t legally allowed to negotiate drug prices, leading to extreme price gouging by drug companies across the board.

This is why you should talk to your doctor first or get a second opinion before starting a drug.

Because once you start a drug, Big Pharma is in perfect position to bleed your bank account dry… and nobody is trying to stop them.
