What the researchers discovered was excessive daytime sleepiness and napping are a key risk factor the buildup of amyloid plaques in the brain (which is a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease).
Even worse? The scientists found individuals who reported excessive daytime sleepiness had 2.75 times the risk of beta amyloid buildup.
Experts believe that poor nighttime sleep is the key driver of both daytime tiredness and the buildup of beta amyloid plaques.
So, if you can get a good night’s sleep… you can skip the naps… and SHEILD your brain from one of the main causes of Alzheimer’s.
