The Fool-Proof Way to STOP Alzheimer’s

There are two guaranteed ways to lose your mind as you age.

The first is to not manage your blood sugar well. And the second is to not manage your blood pressure well.

Today, I want to focus on the latter.

Because high blood pressure does SERIOUS damage to your brain.

Fortunately, there are some easy ways to manage your blood pressure before it destroys your brain.

They are fool-proof and have nothing to do with Big Pharma’s dangerous pills.

One thing I can tell you after more than 30 years of studying health: poor heart health and poor brain health go hand-in-hand.

The better you take care of your heart, the better your brain will be

Never has been truer than with blood pressure

High blood pressure (especially in midlife) is associated with elevated brain problems including Alzheimer’s later in life

One reason is that high blood pressure damages small blood vessels in the brain. These microbleeds are found frequently in people with high blood pressure. While damage to small blood vessels is not as big as a stroke, they still dramatically harm the brain.

In fact, microbleeds are associated with the death of brain tissue throughout the brain. And that dead tissue shows up on brain scans of people with high blood pressure.

Doctors have a word for the death caused by microbleeds: they call them lacuna which literally means hole.

Having high blood pressure can literally DOUBLE your risk of lacuna and Alzheimer’s – and those contribute to brain shrinkage as you age.

Clearly, you have to keep your blood pressure under control if you want to keep your brain healthy.

Let me show you how to do that.

Dr. Scott’s Blood Pressure Control Program:

  • Exercise: Good, consistent exercise is one of your best tools for keeping your blood pressure low.
  • Vitamin C: Some scientists speculate that high blood pressure is a form of scurvy (extremely low vitamin C).  Your blood vessels need vitamin C to be healthy. Remember we are one of a few mammals who cannot produce their own vitamin C.  Anyone who doesn’t supplement does not get enough of this vitamin, so add it to your list.
  • CoQ10: This antioxidant/enzyme is found throughout our bodies and is used for energy production. Since our heart is one of the most energy-hungry organs in our bodies, it needs CoQ10.  It lowers inflammation, reduces blood clots, lowers blood pressure and helps prevent skipped beats (like arrhythmias or atrial fibrillation).
  • Potassium: Potassium is needed throughout your body, but especially in your heart. Supplementing with potassium is not a good idea, this is one mineral you need to get in your food.
  • Fish oil: EPA/DHA found in fish oil have long been shown to be heart healthy and help manage blood pressure. Studies show that Omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish oil) can reduce heart disease by up to 52%. Fish oils work by reducing inflammation and softening up arteries so they stay flexible.
