Could This be a RED FLAG for Alzheimer’s?

Dear Reader,

Unfortunately, it’s true — some things just get harder and slower as we get older.

I certainly can’t run, or jump, or play as much as I used to.

Even your thinking may not be as sharp as it once was. It’s a natural part of life.

But while it’s natural for some things to get slower, there are some “slowdowns” that could be a BIG red flag for Alzheimer’s. …

If you’ve had trouble balancing a checkbook, or calculating a tip, you want to take note…

A new study by Duke University, published in the Journal of Preventative Alzheimer’s Disease, investigated 243 adults aged 55 to 90.

They found that math problems (like balancing a checkbook) corresponded with the level of protein buildup beta amyloid plaques in the brain (a surefire sign of Alzheimer’s disease).

First, let me say that we’ve all had problems getting our checkbooks to balance.

Some of us are more accounting challenged than others (like myself…). But consistent problems with money management can be a warning sign of dementia.

In fact, it may be the first sign.

The researchers found a direct relationship between increased amyloid plaque in the brain and reduced ability to comprehend basic financial concepts. For complex mathematical tasks such as calculating an account balance.

The scientists in this study agree, our brains slow down as we age and things naturally get more difficult. But money is something we should all be able to handle well into our older age.

This means that a math test should be on every Alzheimer’s test.

If you find your math skills are fading, then it is time to take action.

One thing you can start doing right away is making sure your blood sugar is as low as possible – high blood sugar INCREASES inflammation in the brain, which can lead to more plaque buildup.

The next step is to keep inflammation as low as possible. I like fish oil, turmeric, and Boswellia as a way to keep inflammation in check.

Lastly, take good brain nutrients like the B-Vitamins, CoQ10 and others that your brain needs to keep healthy.
