Nobody Knew COVID-19 Does This...

We all know that this new coronavirus is potentially deadly and spreads easily.

But it’s also just plain odd.

Let me show you what I mean…

Most of us think we know what the symptoms of COVID-19 look like, right?

Any search engine or health website will tell you that the symptoms are high temperature, extreme fatigue, coughing, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and trouble breathing.

But what if I told you those weren’t the only symptoms or complications that come with COVID-19?

Doctors are sounding the alarm on a major new risk associated with COVID-19.

And it’s never been more important to keep our guard up.

According to a recent study, many COVID-19 patients are at risk for acute kidney failure.

The study, published in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, found that kidney failure is a serious complication of COVID-19 that’s under-reported (and not well understood by doctors).

This is bad news because the death rate for kidney failure in COVID-19 is about 50 percent.

The study showed that as many as 25 to 30 percent of people in the hospital with COVID-19 are at risk for acute kidney failure.

The research team suggests that COVID-19 attacks the kidneys (just like it does the lungs) and tends to form blood clots. It also increases inflammation. And both of these are harmful to sensitive kidneys.

This is important information for anyone who has COVID-19 and is in the hospital.

But sometimes, for reasons not fully understood, kidney disease can be the only main symptom of COVID-19.

How to know if you have kidney problems?

The most common symptoms are decreased urine output, fluid retention (usually swelling of feet and hands), shortness of breath, fatigue, and nausea.

Keep an eye out for any of these symptoms. This is especially important if you’re diabetic, have high blood pressure, smoke, are overweight, or have a family history of kidney disease.
