High BP Is WRECKING This Organ

Dear Reader, 

When I told Jim his blood pressure was dangerously high, he was quick with his reply: 

“I don’t believe that high blood pressure mumbo jumbo… I feel fine.” 

After all, Jim came to see me because he thought I didn’t believe in that mumbo jumbo either. 

And honestly, there’s a part of me that doesn’t. Drug companies make billions off their BP meds – and that’s why “healthy” blood pressure ranges have gotten lower in recent years. 

But that doesn’t mean Jim, or you, should ignore high blood pressure. 

Because there’s one VERY IMPORTANT reason to keep your blood pressure in check– especially as you grow older. 

I’m talking about your brain. 

You see, your brain and your blood pressure are closely related. 

And when your blood pressure is out of control, it can cause some serious damage to your brain. 

A new study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, shows exactly that: high blood pressure is NOT good for your brain. 

The study combined the findings of four different controlled trials (with over 100,000 people) and found that lowering blood pressure with anti-hypertensive medications reduced the risk of developing dementia by 7 percent! 

Now, think of the 50 million people worldwide who have dementia. Imagine if you could keep 7 percent of them from getting the disease – how great would that be? 

The problem is (of course) what the study’s scientists chose to use in order to lower the blood pressure (anti-hypertensive medications). Because those blood pressure medications have a list of side effects longer than the Mississippi river…  

But the good news is that there are ways to naturally lower your blood pressure.  

Dr. Scott’s Blood Pressure Control Program:  

  • Exercise: Good, consistent exercise is one of your best tools for keeping your blood pressure low.  
  • Vitamin C: There are scientists who speculate that high blood pressure is a form of scurvy (extremely low vitamin C).  Your blood vessels need vitamin C to be healthy. Remember, we are one of a few mammals who cannot produce their own vitamin C.  Anyone who doesn’t supplement does not get enough of this vitamin, so add it to your list.   
  • CoQ10: This antioxidant/enzyme is found throughout our bodies and is used for energy production. Since our heart is one of the most energy-hungry organs in our bodies, it needs CoQ10.  CoQ10 has been shown to lower inflammation, reduce blood clots, lower blood pressure, and help prevent skipped beats (like arrhythmias or atrial fibrillation).   
  • Potassium: Potassium is needed throughout your body, but especially in your heart. Supplementing with potassium is not a good idea, this in one mineral you need to get in your food.  
  • Fish oil: EPA/DHA found in fish oil have long been shown to be heart healthy and help manage blood pressure. Take between one to three grams a day.  Studies have shown that Omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish oil) can reduce heart disease by up to 52%. Fish oils work by reducing inflammation and softening up arteries so they stay flexible.
