Heartburn Drug DESTROYS Your Digestive System?

Dear Reader,

Millions of Americans take a certain purple pill (or something similar) after every meal.

Big Pharma will tell you they’ve designed these types of pills to help with heartburn… but here’s the truth about what those drugs really do:

They DESTROY your body’s ability to digest anything.

The digestion-wrecking and other nasty side effects of heartburn drugs are bad enough. But that’s only scratching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why they’re near the top of my Pills-You-Should-Never-Take List.

You see, acid-blocking drugs do some serious damage when it comes to your health.

And now a recent study proves it.

Acid-reducing agents (ARAs) like antacids and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are some of the most common medications prescribed for the treatment of heartburn.

But a recent study, published in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition, found that longterm use of acid blockers decrease the number of bacteria in your gut called Faecalibacterium

And Faecalibacterium are one of the MOST beneficial bacteria in your digestive system.

Worse yet, other studies have shown the long-term use of acid blockers leads to an explosion of streptococcus (the bacteria linked to strep throat and pneumonia).

So before you pop one of those pills, ask this questionwhy do I have stomach acid?

Stomach acid breaks down protein bonds AND starts the rest of digestive process. The amount of acid in your stomach is the trigger for the pancreas to release digestive enzymes.

(So no acid means no digestive enzymes, no breakdown of food)

And frequent heartburn is actually not a sign of too much acid. In fact, it’s a sign that bacteria are growing too high in your digestive tract. What else could possibly push stomach acid up your throat?

The answer is simple: it’s gas escaping from your stomach.

The ironic thing about stomach acid blockers is they tend to increase bacteria high in the digestive tract.

Which means once you start taking acid blockers, you going to keep buying them (making drug companies very happy – but making your digestive tract MISERABLE).

There is a much better solution. Here’s what I suggest:

  • Avoid Soda: Sugary drinks are infamous for gas production (at both ends). When gas moves up from your digestive tract, it often carries stomach acid (causing heartburn).
  • Stay Away from Sugar: Foods that contain sugar work exactly like soda (see above) and cause gas. This includes foods that act like sugar such as breads, grains, and starchy vegetables.
  • Supplement with a Probiotic: A healthy gut microbiome (gut bacteria) can help reduce heartburn and taking a probiotic will help restore your microbiome.
  • Don’t Skip the Salt: Salt helps keep bad bacteria in check and helps to produce strong stomach acid (which reduces heartburn).

If you want to banish heartburn forever, then follow my advice and support your body’s natural support mechanisms.
