[EXPOSED] The TRUTH About Your Allergy Meds

Dear Reader,

As summers get longer and hotter…you know what that means.

Allergies are going to SKYROCKET.

Over the counter medicines sometimes “work” to calm allergies…

But they don’t work for long.

What’s worse… you have to keep using more and MORE to get any kind of effect, and even then, they’ll eventually become useless.

So you’re still left with your allergy troubles, and an empty wallet to boot.

(Not to mention that those drugs come with a list longer than your arm of side effects.)

The good news? There are natural ways to calm your allergies (that won’t break the bank).

Here is what most people don’t know:

You can be allergic to any molecule on the planet (but proteins, like peanuts, eggs, and pollen are the top common allergies).

For some folks their immune system goes CRAZY when they are exposed to allergens. And oftentimes this reaction can be life-threatening.

Studies show that 25 percent of children have some kind of allergy and around 5 percent have them severe enough to carry around an EPI pen (short for epinephrine – which stops the extreme reaction).

And adults are not immune.

Allergic diseases, such as hay fever, food allergy, asthma, eczema and contact hypersensitivity are on the rise.

Part of this is due to a rise in pollen because of warmer, longer summers – but that doesn’t explain it all.

There is something else going on…

See, allergic reactions are mediated by your immune system, and most people’s immune systems are a mess!

The bottom line? Fix your immune system and you fix allergies.

Here’s how you can get started:

Dr. Scott’s Anti-Allergy Program:

  • Carotenoids and other phytonutrients are great for the lungs and help to reduce oxidant damage. You can find phytonutrients in fruits, vegetables, and my favorite: superfoods blends and green tea.
  • Magnesium is a well-known deficiency in people with allergic conditions. I generally suggest 400-800 milligrams of an absorbable magnesium (such as magnesium citrate, magnesium glycinate, or a magnesium amino acid chelate.)
  • Folic acid: a new study found that folic acid can reduce IgE levels and reduce allergic reactions.
  • Vegetables are especially important for people with allergies. I prefer cruciferous veggies (bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, radish, turnips, watercress) as well as garlic and onions.
  • Probiotics (healthy gut bacteria) are important to overall health and the health of the immune system. Many studies have shown how taking probiotics can reduce allergies.
  • Anti-inflammatories: Fight inflammation with 1-3 grams of Omega-3 fatty acids, curcumin, Boswellia and an anti-inflammatory diet.
  • Avoid processed foods, trans fats, too many sugars.

Allergies are more than an annoyance — they are a sign that your immune system is off balanceBut fortunately, it doesn’t take much to calm down an over-reactive immune system.
