[Important!] Household Painkiller Destroying Your Liver

The longer you live, the more pain you experience

It is an unfortunate aspect of growing older.

So it makes sense that people search for a way to calm down the pain (in joints, muscles…).

But a recent study from the University of California Davis found that reaching for a certain type of painkiller is bad news…especially for one of your body’s most vital organs.

The study, published in the journal Scientific Reports, found that ibuprofen could be a death sentence for your liver

Now, ibuprofen is far from being an innocent drug. It increases high blood pressure, and many studies show it raises your risk of stroke and heart attack.

The study team measured ibuprofen’s effect on the liver and discovered that it increased protein expression

In fact, 34 different metabolic pathways were changed in the livers of mice treated with ibuprofen

What this means is ibuprofen blocked many of the detoxification pathways of the liver. And this can affect your ability to detoxify other drugs or toxins (NOT a good thing!).

Ibuprofen is known to cause liver damage when people take too much (overdose).

But this is the first study to find liver damage from normal dosage.

Clearly, it’s time to find an alternative and stay away from ibuprophen (and other over-the-counter pain relievers for that matter).

These are the five most effective pain-relieving cures from the natural world:

  • People have been using willow bark for thousands of years for pain relief. Willow bark contains a chemical called salicin, which is a key building block of aspirin. So, you get the benefits of aspirin without the side effects. Still, if you are sensitive to aspirin, then you may want to choose another natural pain reliever from this list.
  • Turmeric is a spice and a powerful medicine. Turmeric, and its extract curcumin, have so many good uses that you should be taking turmeric or curcumin every day. Not only does turmeric block pain, but it also reduces inflammation, which is one of the key drivers of pain.
  • Cloves are one of the best topical anti-pain medications. Cloves are especially helpful for tooth pain in adults and teething in children.
  • Epsom salt, which contains magnesium, is great for those sore muscles you get when you overdo your work or exercise. Try an Epsom salt bath next time you hurt your back – it will work wonders.
  • Fish oil is something I never get tired of talking about because most of us don’t get enough Omega-3 fatty acids. When you get enough Omega-3s, the result is a lot less inflammation and pain in your body.

These five remedies are all safe and effective – and you can find them at just about any supermarket or vitamin shop.

P.S. Gone for a long walk, or did an extra strenuous workout and feeling a bit sore? DON’T reach for the ibuprofen. Along with affecting your liver and blood pressure… it may be doing something to your muscles too… And it has NOTHING to do with pain relief. Read the details, here.
