But don’t stop reading just yet…

While coffee is a great source of antioxidants and other healthy nutrients (as well as a shot of caffeine) there IS something about drinking coffee that can do a lot of harm to your health.

Do you know about this hidden health threat lurking in your morning beverage?

If you brew your coffee at home, put it in a ceramic mug, then you’re safe. You can even stop reading.

Unless you occasionally grab a brew on the go…

If you’re one of the millions of Americans who get their coffee TO GO read on because, according to a study that appears in the Journal of Hazardous Materials, your coffee cup could be a serious health hazard

The reason has to do with modern to go coffee cups which are NOT paper at all. But instead they are paper covered in a plastic.

Manufacturers produce around 264 billion paper cups last year so you can drink your hot chocolatecoffeetea and even your soup

The research team poured hot water into those coffee cups and waited 15 minutes. They then measured the amount of plastic in the cup and how much of the cup’s plastic coating degraded.

They were shocked at the results

Your average coffee cup releases 25,000 micronsized particles into your beverage

How big is a micron? It is one twenty-five thousandth of an inch. These microplastics are so small they are invisible to the naked eye, but your body knows they’re there because they create a TOXIC stew inside you that has to be detoxified and eliminated.

If you drink two to four cups of coffee a day that somewhere between 50 and 100,000 tiny pieces of plastic going into your body every single day.

Microplastics contain contaminants like heavy metal toxins like palladium, chromium, cadmium and a whole host of other chemical compounds

Not to mention, some cups are lined with waxWax is a petroleum product you also want to stay far away from.

So, what’s your solution?

It’s easy — don’t use plastic or waxcovered cups! Some stores won’t let you bring your own cup, but you can always find ones that do.
