Put an End to Bloating!

Dear Reader,

It’s no secret that your health starts in your gut.

That’s why you’ve given up processed foods… and loaded up on whole, nutritious foods.

But no matter how much you change your diet, you’re always bloated.

The painful pressure and embarrassing gas are enough to make you miserable.

Fortunately, there are other ways to END you bouts with bloating.

And you can get started today.

*****

Bloating is caused by the bacteria in your gut.

When these microorganisms eat a meal, they produce gas and that gas causes your painful bloating.

These tiny bugs eat the same foods you do.

So, in order to reduce the gas they produce, you have to change their diet… and yours.

Here are a few ways to do that…

Eat less sugar.

If you’re thinking that sugar gets blamed for everything, you’re right. One of the worst things sugar does for your digestion is fed unhealthy bacteria. Those bad bacteria love sugar and produce gas as a byproduct. If you are thinking you can reach for artificial sweeteners, they too tend to throw your microbiome off. It’s best to just reduce sugars and any foods that act like sugars.

Eat fermented foods.

Fermented foods, like sauerkraut, miso, kiefer, and yogurt all contain healthy bacteria. Those good bacteria will help create microbiome that reduces gas. The trick is these foods sometimes increase gas for a short period of time before settling into a low-gas environment.

Avoid eating late in the evening.

I know you have a busy life but eating earlier in the day helps reduce gas and bloating. Your digestive system works best during the day and it slows down during the night. Just because we have invented lights doesn’t mean you get to eat anytime you want. Your body digests best when you’re moving and walking around. It is best to eat at least a few hours before going to bed.

If you have tried the above but still have problems it might be time to move to the next stage.

Dr. Scott’s Ban the Bloat Program:

  • Use salt. Many articles on bloating will say to avoid salt because it causes you to bloat, but don’t believe it. Salt is necessary to make hydrochloric acid in your stomach and the acid is needed to keep bad bacteria down and out of where they don’t belong.
  • Take a good prebiotic and probiotic. I like a probiotic product which has fiber (prebiotic) and good bacteria (probiotics).
  • Try herbs. Basil, dill, ginger, fennel, and mint all help to decrease bloat.
  • Look for potential food intolerances. This is probably the hardest step. Diary is a very common intolerance, but so are wheat and corn.

P.S. Find out more ways to end that miserable post-holiday bloating, acid reflux and MORE. Read the details here.
