[COVID-19] Is the Pandemic RUINING Your Blood Pressure?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

One of the things keeping me going through the pandemic craziness is knowing it HAS to end sometime.

And when it does, we’ll be stronger, tougher, and more resilient.

But in the meantime, it’s still important to keep fighting and staying healthy.

That means defending against all possible threats… but first you have to know what they are.

Researchers have now uncovered a hidden pandemic danger that could increase your blood pressure 37 percent.

The worst part? We’ve been told it’s completely safe.

It’s one of the hardest obstacles we’ve had to face to help prevent the spread of COVID-19… and now it could be putting you in danger rather than keeping you safe.

Social isolation.

Most of us have taken COVID-19 precautions to heart and now spend a lot more time in our homes away from our friends. We’re not socializing like we used to.

And it’s beginning to harm our health.

This pandemic has done a lot to deteriorate our mental and emotional health, including worsening some relationships (divorces are sadly on the rise).

Now it’s beginning to affect something equally as important: blood pressure.

A recent study conducted at the Favaloro Foundation University Hospital found an enormous increase in people with high blood pressure showing up at hospitals.

The researchers examined 12,241 middle-aged patients who had visited the emergency room during the pandemic, and they found that 37 percent had high blood pressure.

The researchers hypothesize that the increase of stress, limited personal contact, and problems with money or family difficulties all contributed to people’s increasing blood pressure.

After all, these are unprecedented times to say the least. More burdens have been heaped on people than in recent history.

We also tend to deal with the stress in unhealthy ways, like drinking more alcohol, watching more television, eating more comfort food, and not exercising as much.

And of course, all of these factors contribute to increased weight gain and blood pressure.

While this may sound bleak at first, there is a solution: make sure to eat well, drink in moderation, and set aside time to exercise every day that you can.

Also make time to talk with your family, whether by phone call or email or chatting on a video call.

The end of the pandemic is in sight, and with just a little bit of effort, you can stay healthy.

P.S. Want a little more help keeping your blood pressure low? Add this “forbidden” food back into your diet and watch the numbers plummet! Find out what it is right here.
