[WARNING] Lung Cancer Risk Is HIDING in Your Kitchen

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

If you’re like most people, you’re probably fortunate enough to live in a comfortable and safe place.

And when you think of cancer risks, you probably think of things outside of your home… and I’ll bet the last place you’d think to look in the kitchen.

But as it turns out, that may be the FIRST place you should look.

Researchers have just discovered that this deadly lung cancer risk could be hiding in your kitchen… and it’s doing silent damage as we speak.

Here’s everything you need to know.

It turns out smoking isn’t the only concern you should have when it comes to your lung cancer risk.

Radon is a radioactive gas that you can’t see, smell, or taste… and the surgeon general has warned that it’s the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S.

And it could be in your home right now.

A new study has shown that granite countertops could be releasing dangerous radon gas.

Radon usually enters your home through the basement, through cracks in the concrete.

But now researchers have discovered that since granite also contains uranium, it could potentially release radon gas.

The New York Times reported that the increased popularity of granite countertops has caused a huge demand in this natural material, which results in sellers not always getting a quality source. The most dangerous types come from places like Brazil and Namibia.

How do you know if your countertop is leaking gas?

Testing is the only way to know for sure. You can call a radon expert in your area or you can use an at-home test kit.

If your kitchen has high radon levels, they can be reduced with some easy household engineering. In other words, you DON’T have to do a complete kitchen renovation.

The easiest solution is to open your kitchen windows when the weather permits, especially in the kitchen. This will help flush out the dangerous air.

If you’d like to learn more about radon testing and mitigation, you can check the EPA’s website.

P.S. Slashing your lung cancer risk isn’t just about eliminating dangers in your home or quitting smoking. You can also reduce your risk with what you eat. Check out this “2-food cure” that can decrease your risk of lung cancer right here.
