[WARNING] Heart Attack Trigger FOUND… in Your Pantry?!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I’m guessing you got the memo that taking care of your heart is VITAL for healthy aging.

Heart disease remains the number one cause of death for both men and women… and now researchers have found another clue why.

You see, preventing heart disease isn’t just about exercise and avoiding stress.

It’s also about what you eat.

A new study has unearthed a heart attack trigger in your pantry… and it could be deadly.

I’m talking about eating highly processed foods.

Processed foods are the foods your ancestors wouldn’t recognize.

You know, things like breakfast cereals, soft drinks, candy, ice-cream, chicken nuggets, French fries… basically all the things that taste good in the moment, but cause a world of hurt down the road.

Most of the warnings around processed foods have been about weight gain or diabetes. But now researchers have discovered that they could also destroy your heart.

In a new study – an offshoot of the famous Framingham heart study – researchers looked at the health habits of 3,000 participants.

They discovered that each serving of processed food you eat ramps up your chances of having a heart attack.

The study team found that ultra-processed foods increased the risk of heart attack heart disease by 7 to 10 percent.

While it may not sound like a lot, these seemingly small percentages get magnified as you age.

It can take a while to eliminate all of the processed foods from your diet. In fact, the typical American diet is almost 60 percent processed foods.

As with most of my advice, kicking the junk food habit is best when done slowly.

Finding whole food replacements for your snacks is the best place to start. If you’re craving crunchy, salty foods, try snacking on nuts or carrots with some hummus instead of chips. And if you’re craving something sweet, try a handful of red grapes or some apple slices instead of a cookie or snack cake.

And if you want to really protect your heart, kicking soda and sweet drinks out of your life is another excellent step.

Finally, start replacing processed, boxed and frozen meals for lunch and dinner. Try the newest trend: sheet pan dinners. Your side and main dish gets cooked at the same time, on one pan, in the oven. You can find sheet pan recipes right here.

P.S. Processed foods aren’t the only killers lurking in your home. Researchers have also discovered that this basic medicine could cause SERIOUS heart damage. Find out what it is right here.
