[COVID-19] This Condition Affects 42% of People!

When COVID-19 descended on America, we saw one shocking thing after another.

Patients were having strokes… blood clots… amputations… even lung transplants.

But the virus wasn’t the only cause of damage.

Researchers have now discovered that the pandemic has also caused another MAJOR health problem for 42 percent of people.

And you could be one of them.

The pandemic caused a lot of fear, panic, and loneliness… but that’s not all.

A recent study found 42 percent of people gained an average of 29 pounds of unwanted weight during the pandemic.

According to a poll by the American Psychological Association, 61 percent of people reported undesired weight change since the pandemic began.

Worst of all? Nearly 10 percent of those people gained more than 50 pounds.

But it wasn’t caused by what you might think.

Sure, sitting around watching Netflix and snacking on chips didn’t help anyone’s figure, but that wasn’t the main problem.

All of this weight gain was caused by the biggest health enemy out there: stress.

No matter what you want to think about this time in our lives, the crazy world we live in has pushed our stress meters up to the maximum.

A poll done by the American Psychological Association found that about 84 percent of people had at least one emotion associated with prolonged stress in the prior two weeks.

And when you’re under stress, it’s too easy to pack on the pounds.

A series of hormonal and metabolic changes happen inside your body when you’re under constant stress. Brain chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and melatonin all drop.

Serotonin regulates emotions, appetite, and digestion – causing you to change your eating habits.

A drop in dopamine takes away your motivation to exercise and lowered melatonin means you have trouble sleeping.

Put this together with a rise in cortisol (the main stress hormone) which causes us to pack on weight, and you have a chemical-hormonal stew that’s ripe for weight gain.

But don’t give up—following a simple low-carb diet and getting even moderate exercise can help lower your stress and get rid of those unwanted pounds.
