Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
I hear people tell me all the time they worry about their heart or their brain… but I’ve almost never had someone tell me they’re worried about their liver.
Considering your liver performs more than 500 roles in your body, however, you’d think folks would be more concerned!
Clearly you want to keep your liver happy if you want to be healthy. And with liver disease affecting a mind-boggling 100 million people in the U.S., there’s no better time than now to protect yourself.
Luckily, there’s an EASY way to SLASH liver disease risk, thanks to this delicious beverage.
And it starts at the breakfast table.

Who would’ve thought chains like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts could be the start of a health trend… but it’s true.
Researchers have found that coffee could be your liver’s best friend.
A new study found that people who drink coffee are less likely to develop or die from chronic liver disease than people who don’t drink coffee.
The researchers looked at data on 384,818 coffee drinkers and compared them to people who didn’t drink coffee. Those who drank coffee had a 21 percent less chance of getting chronic liver disease.
The researchers were surprised to find that it didn’t matter what type of coffee people drank: decaffeinated worked just as well as caffeinated for preventing liver disease.
The evidence suggests that the plant compounds found in coffee may be key to coffee’s liver-protecting abilities — specifically, flavonoids.
Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants that reduce the damage of oxidative stress, and as a result, folks who eat a flavonoid-rich diet have lower cases of diseases, including Alzheimer’s (which you can read more about here).
Either way, it’s a good reason to keep enjoying your morning cup of joe! Just make sure you don’t load it up with sugar or artificial sweeteners. Instead, try a natural product like monkfruit or stevia.
