NEW Alzheimer’s Clue Found?! (Shocking)

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I’m sure you can picture what the typical Alzheimer’s patient looks like.

This is someone who can’t remember how to get back home. They’ve forgotten the name of a close family member, they frequently misplace things and sometimes – more often than not – they just can’t seem to find the right words.

And while, yes, this is what the vast majority of Alzheimer’s patients look like, some folks experience other “less common” symptoms…

Here’s what you need to look for.

***

A new study, published in the journal Brain Communications, has discovered a subtype of Alzheimer’s disease where patients have NONE of the typical symptoms, but have impaired executive function.

Executive function is a brain system that helps you organize and plan. There are six core executive functions:

  • Paying attention
  • Organizing, planning, and prioritizing
  • Starting tasks and staying focused on them to completion
  • Understanding different points of view
  • Regulating emotions
  • Self-monitoring (keeping track of what you’re doing)

Loss of this system is called progressive dysexecutive syndrome and can affect people as early as age 40.

People with this type of Alzheimer’s disease behave much differently than those with memory impairment.

In fact, a lot of people don’t even notice these changes – even as their brains are FILLING up with plaques.

If you suspect this might be you, or someone you love, you’re going to have a hard time convincing your medical doctor that these might be symptoms of Alzheimer’s. My advice? Be persistent and get a complete exam.

But before that happens, let’s take care of your brain so that you never need to have this conversation with your doctor.

Dr. Scott’s Brain Protection Plan:

  • Creatine is an amino acid good for the brain. It also helps support energy production.
  • CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant and helps to provide energy throughout the body.
  • Antioxidants can be vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin C, but I especially like the phytonutrients (including bioflavonoids, flavanols, polyphenols, etc.) that are important for our health. They’re the reason coffee, chocolate, and wine help you avoid disease and live longer lives.
  • Mitochondria are the energy-producing motors of our cells. Support them by supplementing with CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, astaxanthin, selenium, and vitamin E to give your brain energy a boost.
  • Herbs such as curcumin and bacopa work to decrease inflammation and act as powerful antioxidants.
