[SENIORS] Mega Vitamin STOPS Alzheimer’s!
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
The list of things you should do to prevent Alzheimer’s disease is so long you could go to the DMV and post office and STILL get back in time to catch the end of your doctor’s spiel.
Make sure you exercise, control your blood sugar, maintain a healthy weight, have social interactions, do puzzles…
It’s a lot to put on one person!
And that’s not even considering all the nutrients you have to make sure you’re getting as well.
But I have some good news.
Researchers have discovered that this mega vitamin could STOP Alzheimer’s disease.
Which means all of your efforts to prevent it can go even further.

I call vitamin K “the lonely vitamin” because no one seems to know anything about it.
But that may not be the case for much longer…
A breaking new study published in the journal Nutrients has found that vitamin K2 can BOOST your brain health… and fend off Alzheimer’s disease.
You see, vitamin K can actually be divided into two groups: vitamin K1 (found in plants) and vitamin K2 (found in animal products). And while they each serve an important purpose, vitamin K2 is the real winner when it comes to brain health.
In the study, researchers discovered that vitamin K2 has neuroprotective properties. In other words, it protects fragile brain cells and keeps them healthy.
When researchers pretreated cells with vitamin K2, they noticed that far fewer experienced apoptosis (cell death) than those that hadn’t been treated.
Vitamin K2 also suppressed inflammation and brain cell degradation by blocking molecules called cytokines. And as I’m sure you’ve learned during the pandemic, out of control cytokines can lead to dangerous “cytokine storms” which are often found in COVID-19 patients. But thankfully, vitamin K2 got these wayward cells under control.
The researchers suggest more trials need to be done to determine how supplementing with vitamin K can benefit the brain, but I wouldn’t wait. Vitamin K2 is a vitamin most folks don’t get enough of.
And it’s truly a shame, because not only is vitamin K2 great for your brain, but other studies also show it can help with diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
I generally suggest getting 90mcg of vitamin K (both K1 and K2 combined) a day along with a balanced diet. If you don’t get enough, then make sure you supplement.
Good food sources of vitamin K2 include fish, liver, meat, and eggs. It’s also found in a lot of fermented foods, which means you can boost your gut health while protecting your brain.
