“Goldilocks Method” STRENGTHENS Memory

Remember the story of Goldilocks?

After breaking and entering, she had three breakfast choices to make: one too hot, one too cold, and one was just right.

Then she faced the same choice when she went to take a nap: choose the soft bed, the medium bed, or the hard bed.

Each time, she chose the middle.

Well, believe it or not, “Dr. Goldilocks” has a lesson to teach you about STRENGTHENING your memory.

And it’s so easy, you won’t believe it!

It doesn’t matter what we’re talking about – water, protein, or exercise – there is an amount that is too little, and an amount that is too much… and somewhere in the middle is the perfect amount.

And it’s the same for sleep.

A recent study published in the journal JAMA Neurology found that BOTH too little sleep and too much sleep causes problems for your brain – especially as you grow older.

The research team found that both people who slept over nine hours and people who slept less than six hours had impaired cognition.

Even more, the researchers found that the short-sleepers had more buildup of amyloid beta, the protein that gunks up your brain and causes Alzheimer’s.

While the researchers didn’t find any physical brain changes with the long-sleepers, they found that the long sleepers didn’t perform as well on mental tests.

And not only that, the researchers discovered that many of the long-sleepers had diseases, like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. One of the researchers’ theories was that these folks slept longer because of these diseases.

Now it’s important to note that we’re not talking about occasionally having a bad night’s sleep or sleeping in on a Sunday. You should look into your sleep habits if you consistently don’t sleep well.

To get better sleep, try using a white noise machine or fan to calm your mind and block out noisy neighbors or traffic. It also helps to make sure your room is completely dark, and that you avoid “screen time” on your phone or TV for at least an hour before bed.

And to get that “just right” amount of sleep, aim for 7-8 hours a night.
