Nursing Home Tragedy REVEALED! (Shocking)
You probably already know that the biggest tragedy in American healthcare is nursing homes.
If you’re a senior, I’m willing to bet that one of your biggest fears is being thrown into “a home.”
And rightfully so.
Mainstream medicine treats acts like the second you reach a certain age, you should be locked up.
But today I’m going to reveal another a shocking tragedy that’s been going on in nursing homes… and how to protect yourself and loved ones from this awful fate.
There has long been a tendency for care homes to overmedicate their patients.
The reason is simple: someone who is drugged is less likely to complain, cause trouble, or even leave their room.
There are strict regulations in place to stop this practice, but less ethical providers have found a loophole: false diagnoses.
You see, common antipsychotic drugs like clozapine (Versacloz, Clozaril), aripiprazole (Abilify), haloperidol (Haldol), and others can cause emotional blunting, drowsiness, and lethargy.
But you can’t just give antipsychotics to anyone… they require a diagnosis.
Enter schizophrenia.
Diagnosis of schizophrenia has skyrocketed by 70 percent since 2012. And you guessed it— most of those new diagnoses have been in seniors.
These stats just don’t add up… especially since most patients are diagnosed with schizophrenia before the age of 40.
But if you do have schizophrenia, then an adult care center can prescribe you antipsychotic drugs AND you don’t have to report the prescriptions to federal government oversite.
And boy have they prescribed! The latest estimates are that at least 21 percent of nursing home residents are on antipsychotics.
While antipsychotics calm patients down, they’re dangerous because they also increase the chance of heart disease, infections, and falls (not to mention a whole list of side-effects).
The best you can do if you have a loved one in care is to carefully monitor what medications they are given. Your best source of information if you have a question about a drug is your local pharmacist – they’re usually very helpful and don’t have any ulterior motives.
