“Bacteria Secret” Key to DEFEATING Prostate Cancer?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Have you ever noticed how many different doctors there are?

You have a doctor for your heart, another for your stomach… and still another for your right front toe!

Mainstream doctors can make you think each part of your body should be treated as a separate entity. But the truth is, your body’s “individual” systems are FAR more connected than we could have ever imagined.

And this is especially true if you’re a man with prostate cancer.

A new study has found that this “bacteria secret” could be KEY to surviving prostate cancer.

You couldn’t be blamed if you never thought that a healthy gut would have anything to do with your prostate.

I’m talking about your microbiome in particular, that collection bacteria in your gut.

The little critters in our microbiome do some pretty amazing things, but if the bad bacteria outweigh the good AND you’re fighting prostate cancer… you could be in trouble.

The thing you have to know about prostate cancer is that most prostate cancers are driven by male hormones called androgens.

In fact, one of the major ways mainstream cancer docs treat prostate cancer is to give men anti-androgen drugs that SUPPRESS these hormones.

And here’s where things get weird. When male hormones drop because of anti-androgen drugs, guess who makes up the difference?

Your gut.

According to scientists from The Institute of Cancer Research in London, gut bacteria INCREASE androgens. And more androgens mean more cancer growth.

This also brings up several questions. For example, do the blossoming androgen-producing bacteria only happen during anti-androgen therapy? Are there certain types of bacteria that do this which are the result of mainstream drugs?

And men aren’t the only ones who have to worry about this: breast cancer is another hormone-dependent cancer.

Hopefully, this is just the first study in more research to come.

Meanwhile, there are a few key ways to help better your odds if you’re fighting prostate cancer.

Dr. Scott’s Prostate Health Program

  • Eat well. This means plenty of veggies and good proteins. Tomatoes, which contain lycopene, are especially good for your prostate. You should also avoid processed or sugary foods as much as you can.
  • Get plenty of zinc. Foods high in zinc include pumpkin seeds, beef, and spinach. Supplement to make sure you are getting enough.
  • Turmeric. This Asian herb contains powerful anti-cancer compounds and antioxidants.
  • Medical mushrooms. Try cooking with mushrooms like reishi, turkey tail, and maitake can give your immune system the boost it needs to fight cancer.
  • Pygeum and stinging nettle. These two herbs also support good prostate health.
  • Beta-sitosterol. This fiber-like substance has been shown to be especially good for the prostate.

P.S. If you’re lucky enough to be cancer-free, you probably want to stay that way! Researchers found that this weird fungus trick can knock your prostate cancer risk down 17 percent. Find out more right here.
