“Tune Strategy” STRENGTHENS Memory, Fights Alzheimer’s

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

If you’ve been following the news, you’ve probably noticed that MANY experimental Alzheimer’s disease drugs have failed in recent clinical studies.

As a result, major drug companies’ stocks are dropping like a rock.

In fact, many companies got out of the Alzheimer’s drug game altogether.

The bottom line is, drugs don’t seem to change the clinical outlook for Alzheimer’s patients. Patients are still losing their memories… and their lives.

But if you or a loved one are suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s… there’s still hope.

Now, a new study points to this “tune strategy” as a promising new memory booster.

It’s something they’ll enjoy, it doesn’t cost a penny, and best of all, it’s not another pill.

I’m talking about music.

You know that music moves you on a deep level. But it’s even deeper than you think.

Recently, the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease published a study linking autobiographically salient music to STRONGER brain function.

What does “autobiographically salient” music mean? It’s simply music a person enjoys, and that has a special meaning to them.

The research team found functional change to neural pathways in the prefrontal cortex of the brains of the music listeners. (Your prefrontal cortex is where you make decisions and store memory.)

This means their brains actually improved when they listened to music that was important to them.

While any type of music will stimulate people’s brains, it’s meaningful music that makes changes to their brains. The scientists were so impressed that they called listening to this kind of music a “gym for the brain.”

This is an easy thing to do for someone you love who is suffering from dementia. There are many music players that can even be programed for specific songs to come on at certain times of the day for them.

When you combine this kind of music with other things that are known to help, you can really give someone a leg-up.

So, while you’re queuing up some tunes, try these methods as well.

Dr. Scott’s Brain Protection Plan

  • Creatine. This is an amino acid that’s good for the brain and also helps support energy production.
  • Omega-3 fish oil. This essential fatty acid is something your brain needs to support its function and protect against oxidation.
  • Antioxidants. This class of nutrients can include vitamins such as A and C, but I especially like the phytonutrients found in superfood supplement combinations.
  • Curcumin and bacopa. These herbs work to decrease inflammation and act as powerful antioxidants for your entire body.
