Mainstream Drug SURGES Kidney Disease Risk?! (Yikes!)

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It goes without saying that kidney disease is something you don’t want.

People with kidney failure have to spend 3 to 5 hours at a dialysis center three times a week. If you’re “lucky” enough to have a dialysis machine at home, you have to be on it for 2 to 3 hours, every single day.

It’s an exhausting ordeal… and no way to spend your retirement.

But now, a new study shows that this mainstream drug could SURGE your risk of kidney disease.

And once you know which one it is, you’ll be shocked.

A new study, published in the journal JCI Insight, found that taking certain blood pressure drugs do nothing to stop kidney damage.

I want to be clear: high blood pressure is not something to take lightly. It damages many parts of your body, including your kidneys and the blood vessels around your heart and inside your brain.

Keeping your blood pressure under control is one of the keys to a long and healthy life, and it’s long been thought that blood pressure medications could help slow down the damage caused by high blood pressure.

But in this study, scientists found that long-term use of drugs such as ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitors, or angiotensin receptor blockers can actually CAUSE damage.

Both types of drugs could cause the renin cells in your kidneys to trigger smooth muscle cells to thicken and stiffen, thereby BLOCKING blood flow through the kidneys.

You might think that stopping your blood pressure drugs is a good idea because they don’t do any good. But that is something you should NEVER do.

Stopping blood pressure medications should only be done when you can keep your blood pressure low and should always be done with the aid of a medical professional.

You can, however, work with your doctor to use natural solutions to lower your blood pressure safely, like CoQ10 or vitamin C, two antioxidants that have been proven effective. Just make sure you do so with his supervision.

P.S. If you’re worried about your kidney health, you have to see this mailbag letter.
