Mediterranean Condiment PLUMMETS Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Risk

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It’s no secret that good health depends on prevention.

Once you reach a certain age, however, it can feel like it’s too late for prevention to make a difference… especially when it comes to serious conditions, like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.

But the truth is, it’s never too late to make a difference in your health. And that’s exactly what this exciting new study proves.

Researchers have found that this classic Mediterranean condiment can PLUMMET Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s risk.

And as a bonus, it’s delicious!

A recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that adding olive oil to your diet could lower your risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

The researchers came to this conclusion after reviewing data that followed 60,582 women and 31,801 men for 28 years.

They found that people who regularly consumed olive oil had a 29 percent lower risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s as well as a 19 percent lower risk of heart disease, compared to those who rarely or never cooked with olive oil.

The researchers also noted that the lower risks were NOT associated with vegetable oils such as corn and canola oil.

That’s because there is a HUGE difference between vegetable oils and oils like olive oil and avocado oil (not to mention butter).

Olive oil is healthy— it’s packed with good fats, nutrients, and antioxidants.

Vegetable oils are oils that our bodies are simply unable to handle. As a result, eating canola, sunflower, corn, safflower, and peanut oils increase inflammation in our bodies.

The only oils that don’t increase inflammation are olive, avocado, and butter.

The reason has to do with the structure of the fat.

Saturated fats have been on the nutritional no-no list for a long time, but they’re very stable when you cook them and don’t oxidize, which is what kicks off inflammation in the body.

Olive oil and avocado contain about 14 percent saturated fat, as well as oleic acid, a beneficial monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid.

So, throw out your vegetable oils and get some olive or avocado oil. You can rest assured, knowing you are taking great, preventative care of your health.
