BOOST Your Lifespan by 13 Years!? (One Simple Step)

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Frequent readers will know I often find myself at odds with much of the mainstream nutritional wisdom.

I often see mainstream nutritionists and doctors say to eat more fruits and vegetables… as if ALL fruits and veggies have the same exact nutrition content.

These are the same “experts” who pair red meat and processed foods together, as if they were the same thing.

But when it comes to living a LONG, healthy life, it’s all about choices. After all, there’s a big difference between the sugar in a banana and the sugar in a donut.

Making good choices when you can will IMPROVE your health and keep you going long into your golden years… even if the choice itself seems small at first.

In fact, a recent study found that one simple step could BOOST your lifespan by 13 years!

And it’s a choice that’s incredibly easy to make.

In a startling study, researchers found that simply eating a healthier diet could add as many as 13 years to your life.

They found that making small changes to what you eat each day could add more years to your life the earlier you start. For example, someone who started making changes at age 60 could add eight years to his life.

If you’re on the other side of 60, don’t lose hope— the researchers estimated that an 80-year-old who changed their diet could add 3.5 years to their life. Not too shabby, considering the average age of death is around 78 years old.

But I have a bone to pick with this study.

Let me be clear—I agree that making small changes in the name of health is ALWAYS a good thing. But I don’t agree with how the researchers defined what “eating healthier” means.

You see, they fell back on the old “eat more fruits and vegetables and avoid red meat and processed foods.”

This despite the fact that the jury is still out on red meat, and sugars (especially fructose found in fruit) is one of the main reasons people gain weight and get diabetes.

So, yes… you can improve your health at any age, and it will pay off for you with better health and living longer, but don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Getting plenty of grass-fed beef for protein, staying away from added sugars and lots of fruit, avoiding vegetable oils, and eating a variety of colors will all go a LONG way towards helping you live longer.

P.S. If you’re a senior woman and you want to live longer, you HAVE to see this 10-minute trick.
