Delicious Snack REDUCES Your Heart Disease Risk

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Seems like the whole world is way too complicated sometimes… especially when it comes to healthcare.

For instance, if you want to lower your risk of heart disease, your mainstream doctor will most likely hand you a prescription for a multitude of drugs… plus tell you to lose weight too.

No one wants that!

But what if I told you there was an easy way to lower your heart disease risk AND lose weight without meds?

In fact, it’s actually FUN!

A new study shows that this delicious snack could REDUCE your heart disease risk and help you get thinner.

I’m talking about nuts.

Specifically, I’m talking about cashews and Brazil nuts.

In a recent study in the British Journal of Nutrition, researchers had one group of women eat 45 grams of nuts a day, and another group do nothing to serve as a control.

The women who consumed nuts had improvements in body composition AND a drop in Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM-1), a vital marker scientists use to measure endothelial inflammation.

The endothelium is the inside membrane of all blood vessels. When endothelium inflammation is high, it’s bad news for your heart (and the rest of your body).

Dropping ICAM-1 is a good sign for both heart health and for weight loss.

The researchers suspect that the improvements in health from eating nuts have to do with the minerals, protein, fiber, good fats, vitamins, and polyphenols that nuts contain. All of these nutrients combine to bring you optimal health.

Both cashews and Brazil nuts are also high in selenium, a mineral most people don’t get enough in their diet. Other studies have shown a relationship between selenium and lower endothelial inflammation.

How do you make this work for you?

You’re looking for about 45 grams of nuts a day, or a little over a handful of nuts.

And don’t worry about the salt— despite what the mainstream says, it won’t harm your blood pressure. Still, if possible, try to eat raw nuts to get the best benefit.

P.S. Did you know that getting enough selenium could help you live longer? Find out more right here.
